The Portuguese chef started his culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu in the United States. After spending time in London and Sydney, he returned and settled down in Lisbon, where he worked at the Hotel Lapa Palace, the restaurant Xarope in Cascais, La Villa in Estoril and the Sheraton Lisboa Hotel. He stars, among others, in the TV programme Ingrediente Secreto, and is one of the most popular chefs in Portugal. In 2013 he opened the restaurant Cais da Pedra, but his definitive consolidation came in 2015 with Alma, awarded with one Michelin Star (2016).
Various acknowledgements have been awarded to this chef, who is considered to be one of the most well-rounded and ambitious chefs in contemporary Portuguese cuisine. Alma serves emotions, identity and knowledge.
